SOCIAL RESPONSABILITY
Our key pillars of commitment, adaptability, environmental performance and ethical conduct are part of our day-to-day work.
These pillars ensure every engagement with our clients and partners is based on responsibility, while opening ourselves to the world from a position of respect so this vision can be conveyed to society through our activity.
Our strategic alliances with multiple agents within the framework of Corporate Social Responsibility give us added value, building a more interrelated and sustainable economy.
The 40-plus years that Ibericafé has been devoted to the world of coffee have allowed us to become leaders in the sector, promoting Social Responsibility projects in different producing countries and helping ensure scientific and technical progress as a way of developing good agricultural practices and sustainable management of resources.
If you share our vision and like to know more, please ask us about our coffee with personality: our responsible coffee.
Rainforest Alliance Certified
For our Rain Forest Alliance range of coffees we are involved in three key sustainability areas: social, economic and environmental. We work with certified farms that are regularly audited to ensure farmers comply with the comprehensive demands set out in the Standard, which requires continuous improvement on the road to sustainable agriculture. Ibericafé is committed to conserving biodiversity, improving the livelihoods and human welfare of farmers and small producers, preserving natural resources and using effective systems for agricultural planning and management.
UTZ Certification
Our certified UTZ items (Utz Kapeh, which means ‘good coffee’ in Maya) are produced complying with the strict standards of this program. Consumers want to know where their food comes from, trusting that the products they consume are produced in a responsible way that does not harm the environment or abuse the most vulnerable members of the chain, namely the farmers.
To this end, UTZ Certification has been the most important program for the sustainable cultivation of coffee around the world since 2014. It is a global program that guarantees compliance with environmental and social quality standards.
Organic Certification
We also have products with organic certification; these are selected for their ecological production methods, with the goal of ensuring food with maximum nutritional and sensory quality while respecting the environment and preserving soil fertility.
These crops are planted in the shade of higher trees, which not only provide ideal humidity but also helps to produce a high quality coffee and contributes to improving and conserving the soil, making it more fertile.
At Ibericafé we are committed to the compliance of the Standard in the terms set out by Madrid Ecological Agriculture Committee and to help ensure sustainable, high-quality organic production.
Fairtrade Certification
Finally, our Fairtrade coffees seek to be part of the Fairtrade supply chain, which is born out of the commitment of different organizations around the world. Fairtrade enables the poorest producers and workers in all coffee producing countries to live with dignity from their work and take control of their future.
Fairtrade gives consumers the opportunity to promote positive change and fairer trade relations with countries through their purchasing decisions. This certification provides companies with the tools and structures necessary to offer Fairtrade products and do business in a more equitable, sustainable manner.
